fantastic body art of Azriel Bane. Simply stunning work! Full set of images from the shoot to follow in the next few days!

The man behind the cam(era)

Ok so I HATE self portraits! There is a reason I prefer to be the other
side of the lens, but I was messing about with using a ringflash as a
offshoe flash with a wireless trigger a few weeks ago and sadly not a model
in sight! So here I am in all my glory. You may look away now..

My Diploma

One of the proudest things for me in 2010 was receiving my Diploma in
Professional Photography, a 2 year intensive course tailored specifically to
work in the photographic industry, covering all areas of photography from
studio techniques to business management, and although being a photographer
for many many years it was an achievement for me to obtain this as a
reflection of my skills and hard work.

Painted Lady

Something I have actually never tried before, using a texture overlay onto a
portrait shot. Using a generic stock image of cracked paint and then mixing
with a layer mask onto the original image of the model (in this case, my
wife Zoe) Considering it is a first attempt I am actually rather pleased with how it
has turned out, and most importantly so was my wife! Original image was shot in studio, Sony Alpha body, F11 @160/s 50mm lens, 2x
bowens heads and snooted boom head.

Pixie

An image from last year from the graveyard shoot with model Pixie Stitches,
this was one of the first images taken on the day just to get the model
relaxed in front of the camera, whilst it didn't fit with the
horror/zombiesque theme of the shoot, it is a nice contrast to the style.

Concept Art - Pin-up for Heroes 2010 Calendar

A blast from the past, some of the early concept art from the 2010 Pin-up
for Heroes calendar which I have ran for the past 2 years to raise money for
the Help for Heroes charity. Shot at Neon Studio in Burntwood, Staffordshire, featuring Helen Toseny as
the Model, hair and makeup by Lucy Friend and Mary Cooke and Costume by
Pandoras Choice, with post production by Sam Dawes at Double Negative, and
of course, photography by myself!
