Darth Vaders Day off.

A recent shoot with myself and Ryan Garratt from Nemesis Graphics around Wolverhampton City Centre.

Both of us being big Star Wars fans and as I had recently purchased a Darth Vader replica Helmet we decided to have some fun with it and came up with the idea of ‘Darth’s Day off’ So when Mr Vader is not the right hand of the Emperor, building deathstars and causing general mayhem he likes to dress down and have a little personal time, drinking coffee in Starbucks, reading the Metro Newspaper and playing in autumn leaves etc. You get the idea!

Bar from quite a few strange looks it was a rather enjoyable shoot and I guess with Wolverhampton University being close by people just assumed we were students or similar.

Shot with a Sony a350 Camera, and a Minolta 50mm f1.7 lens to compensate for the low light on the day, and plus to give some superb Depth of Field to the images. Processed in Lightroom 4 with some custom presets which I will be sharing on my website at a later date.

Enjoy!

Untitled

I  have been privileged to have 2 features in the most recent issues of
Gladstone Magazine. A free online magazine for the alternative / Burlesque /
tattoo communities.

I am currently featured on the front cover of issue 6, and a 4 page spread
in issue 7 from pages 22-25. I was originally due to have the feature in
issue 6 however the images i had submitted ended up in the editors spam
folder so the deadline was missed for issue 6 and they offered a full
feature in Issue 7 instead!

The feature was from a selection of recent works including work for clothing
companies, as well as some of my work on the Pin up for Heroes charity
calendar, with the credits for each image as follows :

Issue 6  - Cover

Models : Jasmine Cooper and Jme Edglington
Hair and Makeup by Baneology and Jme Scissorhands
Clothing by Catalyst Latex

Issue 7

Unfortunately for Issue 7 the editors used my old, outdated logo which does
not reflect my current branding. Links : www.gladstonemagazine.co.uk

When Darkslide met Louga Graphics

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a Graphics design student Gareth Hollis
who was looking for someone to let them use some of their images for some
creative design work as part of his college course. So after a few discussions back and forth about what kind of design work he
was looking to do for his coursework I selected a sample of some of my older
images as he also expressed an interest in some of my Pin-up photography as
he was looking to do creative background work as well as image retouching. After a few revisions of each shot, I was very impressed with some of his
photoshop work and he has since offered to do some more creative designs on
some more of my work too. To view more of Gareth's work check him out on
www.facebook.com/lougagraphics and www.lougagraphics.co.uk and of course
with the photos in this gallery. Thanks for reading!

The passenger..

Being the passenger in a car can often yield some interesting photographic opportunities.
